Palmistry names seven main mounts, the fleshy pads below the fingers and around the edge of the palm. Each mount is linked to a planet and a cluster of traits.
The seven mounts
The mounts of Jupiter, Saturn, Sun and Mercury sit below the fingers, while Venus, Mars and the Moon occupy the body of the palm. A raised mount is read as emphasis, a flat one as less pronounced.
Reading the mounts is a matter of balance across the whole hand rather than any single pad, and they are considered alongside the lines.
